Have you got a minute? Part 1

Now that you have your name list or prospect list, the next step is calling and inviting people in your list to look at your business.
The goal of the phone is to set up an appointment with your prospect for business meeting.
“The phone should only be used for one thing – setting an appointment!!!”
Here are some quick tips and ideas:
- Do not present the opportunity over the phone.
- Keep conversation short and to the point.
- Be excited about your opportunity. If you are in a bad mood (depressed, angry, or sad) do not call any or your prospects yet. Listen to a motivational tape, cd or read a book of encouragement to lift up your spirit. Your mood transmits itself over the phone in your tone of voice. SMILE even when there’s no one there. Better yet, put a mirror near your phone and smile at yourself as you talk with your prospect.
- Say your prospect’s name often.
- Do not say the following: do you want to sell?, distributor, Part-time, Networking, MLM, etc..
- Sound excited when inviting on the phone.
- Be sure your contact is not distracted. “Have you got a minute?”
- Tell your contact you’re calling to see if they’re available to get together. “Is Wednesday night good or is Saturday afternoon better?”
- Make them just curious enough so they’ll look forward to meeting you in person.
- Close. “So I’ll look forward to seeing you on Saturday afternoon at (time and venue).”
- Maintain your posture. Never say “please” or beg your contact to see you. Remember, you are doing them a big favor by showing them this big opportunity, and not the other way around.
Here are some various approaches/scripts that you can use and modify to fit your style.
Tell him/her why you are calling.
- “I would like to ask for your help regarding this new business which I just acquired. Would you know of anybody who would like to earn additional P10, 000.00 income?
- “I would like to ask you for your opinion regarding this new business which I just acquired. Could I invite you to listen to this business opportunity and give me your thoughts about it?”
- “I found a very exciting business - if the money were right and it didn’t jeopardize what you’re currently doing, would you want to find out about it?”
- “Mr. Prospect, I’ve stumbled onto what looks like an interesting business concept. We need to get together and talk. What does your schedule look like?”
Approach him/her with a compliment.
- “I know that you are a hard-working businessman and I would like you to look at a very profitable opportunity. You are just the person who would succeed in this kind of business.”
- “You are a very friendly and sincere person who likes helping people. I would like you to look at an opportunity that aims to help people achieve success.”
Use the direct approach.
“Would you be interested in earning additional income?”
*When you ask a direct question like the above, the next thing which your prospect is likely to ask you would be: “Yes, what is it?”
Always answer with a BENEFIT
“I have found a very exciting and profitable business that teaches people how to make money.” Or, “I’m in a business which helps people become wealthy and healthy” (that is if you’re in the food supplement industry).
