Where Am I Going? A question of destiny

Things have been very busy lately. Speaking engagements, lots of research and activities that made you awake until 4am in the morning and experience a 1 hour sleep just to charge up. If there’s one thing that tires me the most is not the strenuous physical activities but of the mind. Today, I had the pleasure to sleep long hours brought about my headache due to tiredness. When I woke up, I began to think and …

Have you ever felt frustrated while being busy with the current things that you’re doing? Have you ever felt that urge that you where designed to be more than what you’re currently doing right now or you were meant to do something great or significant?

Haaay… So much to do yet so little time.

In the middle of these questions, an idea crept in, and along with it came memories and thoughts flooding in from things that I have learned and heard from the past. That word is “destiny.”

Am I predestined to do something great in this life? Destiny always asks, “Where Am I Going?” and I personally believe that each man has his destiny set before him even before he was created or made. How?

The END is called destination and the beginning is called BIRTH. So PRE means before, DESTINATION means end which makes up the work “PREDESTINATION.”

The bible says in Isaiah 49:9-10, “remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose…” It’s like God saying that I have set your end before the beginning. Therefore, Predestination means – having your end establish before the beginning.

“Destiny Is Your Establish End.”

That’s why when we get frustrated, along with it the feeling that you were meant for something great or even feel that you have to do something that you can’t explain is because of the word destiny. Your destiny pulls you to it and destiny is the source of your frustration on this given context. When you are not doing what you’re suppose to be made or created or destined to do, destiny makes you uncomfortable. Your dreams, passion, desire are the manifestation of your destiny.

So if we are destined for greatness, how come a lot of people do not experience it? I once heard from Tony Robbins that, “It is not the conditions of life but my decisions that determine my destiny.” So, can a person really control his destiny?

First of all, you don’t create your destiny, but you can sabotage it (based on the biblical text that we used above). Like in an ideal family, your parents goal, intent and plans for you is to have the best in life (For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. - Jeremiah 29:11 ESV). But the child gets to experience the plans of his parents when he submits to it. The destiny never changes, purpose is permanent, destiny is permanent. It is plans that change (A person may plan his own journey, but the LORD directs his steps. - Proverbs 16:9 GW )and you can destroy your going to your destiny by making poor choices and decisions that sabotage and short circuit God’s purpose for your life.

Purpose is God’s intent in your life. Destiny is when it is established .Vision is when you see it.

Plans May Change But Purposes Are Permanent.
Decisions May Vary, But Destiny Is Constant.

If you made a mistake in life, you’re mistakes can never cancel your destiny if you go back to God (For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable - Romans 11:29 ESV; And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose - Rom 8:28 ESV).

He predestined you according to the Plan (will) of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will. – Ephesians 1:11

Even your bad mistakes, He conforms them back to use them to take you to your purpose.

Each man has his own destiny, it is not something you create but it is something that you discover. You don’t create your destiny, but you can sabotage it. You may not agree with the idea, but it’s something worth thinking and considering.
Have a great day!

Another joust with destiny, huh? This is so often done. I gotta wonder if anybody ever gets anything out of these. This one is a good examination, though.

Sometimes I feel the same way. But, I try to do my best what I am doing right now. That is the only thing I can control. I also believe we never know where we really are going. That’s a sort of beauty of life. Most important thing is doing our best today.
